UK: Heineken Takes a Minority Stake in Beavertown Brewery

Dutch brewing company Heineken has invested GBP 40 million (USD 53M) in the North London-based Beavertown Brewery for an undisclosed stake in the business.

Established in 2012 by Logan Plant, the company is known for its craft beer. Beavertown Brewery confirmed the Heineken investment in its news blog, saying, “In choosing Heineken, we’ve met the criteria we set ourselves and that were important to us as a company and a team.

The investment gives Beavertown the funding to expand and build a 450,000 hectolitre brewing facility, which the company says will increase its current brewing capacity by ten. The 125,000 sq ft facility called Beaverworld also includes a 7,000 sq ft visitor centre.

Logan Plant will remain founder and CEO of the brewery.
